He started out as a glass factory workers at Emmaboda, before he decided to become an actor, graduating from the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school in 1942. His film debut was in Alf Sjöberg's "Den blomstertid..." (1940). Erik Hell appeared in almost 100 feature films and television productions.
