Nicklas is an 11-year-old dancer and video gamer. After his left leg swelled up in 2019, he was diagnosed with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, cancer of the soft tissue. The cancer had spread from his calf, up his left leg, his groin, his abdomen, and up both sides of his lungs. Nicklas is an 11-year-old dancer and video gamer. After his left leg swelled up in 2019, he was diagnosed with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, cancer of the soft tissue. The cancer had spread from his calf, up his left leg, his groin, his abdomen, and up both sides of his lungs. From September 2019-February 2021, he went through many cycles of chemotherapy, two cycles of radiation (on his leg and then his chest, abdomen, and pelvis), and also had surgery to remove the main tumor from his leg. He just had his first set of 3-month-post treatment scans and everything looks great so far! Cancer and COVID definitely changed his new normal for a while, but he is excited to get back into more of a normal routine.
