His path to the booth wasn't a straight line, he spent years working local radio in New Jersey and even sold cars at a dealership before catching a break with a part-time gig at WCBS-AM in New York in 2003. That led to a prominent run as a field reporter for SportsNet New York's Mets coverage from 2007 to 2014, where he built his reputation before Fox Sports hired him as an NFL play-by-play announcer in 2013. He steadily climbed Fox's broadcast ranks, and in 2022 he was named the network's lead NFL play-by-play voice, succeeding Joe Buck after nearly three decades in the role.
