Her performance as an antagonist in *Gupt: The Hidden Truth* (1997) earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Villain.

Over her career, Kajol received five Filmfare Awards for Best Actress for her performances in the romantic drama *Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge* (1995), the romance *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai* (1998), the family drama *Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...* (2001), the romantic thriller *Fanaa* (2006), and the drama *My Name Is Khan* (2010).
